Who's Your Baby Daddy

As the proud father to be of that beautiful foot and, well, you know the other body part in the other picture, I asked my beautiful wife and mother-to-be if I could contribute to the family blog. She graciously accepted my offer as she did my last offer almost six years ago. You will all be happy to know that I am not suffering from heart burn. Not because there is not a hairy baby in my stomach but because I have decided that a 31 year old man no longer needs to eat chips, popcorn, and/or candy after, say, 9 p.m. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be Christy's cause for her heart burn so we are stuck with it for now. Expecting has been a great experience so far. Luckily Christy has felt as good as could be expected the first 17+ weeks so that has been wonderful. The hardest thing for the father to be was the process of knowing you are having a child, the most wonderful news you could ever get, and then............waiting another 10-11 weeks to tell everyone. Well everyone except for my brother in law,Greg, and dog, Max, who knew early on because of the baby books laying around the house and doggie intuition. The experience of telling everyone was so great and all of our friends and family were so happy for us, which made it so much better. Then came the next painfully long wait. What was our little baby, a boy or a girl? We had lists of names for both sexes and at times it seemed weird to be going through the name exercise over and over again when half the names would be thrown out with one quick view of our baby's midsection. So we found out it is a boy, A BOY!, this Monday and everything is now in place. Half the names have been eliminated along with all the visions of pink dancing through our heads. Blue is in and visions of my own little Yankees, Sabres, Bills, and, yes, Carolina Tar Heel fan are prevalent in my head now. So almost 18 down and 22 to go and it can't get her soon enough. There will be discussions about cribs and changing tables, car seats and strollers, but the excitement that I, check that, we feel will only get bigger. And we are thankful that you all are excited to follow our journey through this blog and to check in on the expanding "bump". Thanks for being such good friends and family.
